National Security R&D Company Expands Locally
Story Posted: 04-20-10
Emphasizing its commitment to the San Antonio technology community, Tracer Detection Technology Corp. expands its management team with the addition of two key executives. San Antonio, TX – April 15, 2010 – Just over four years ago, Jay Fraser and his wife Katherine moved to San Antonio from Long Island along with about five tons of their belongings. Mr. Fraser’s company Tracer Detection Technology came with them in his car. Tracer is an R&D company focusing on two patented technologies - its counterfeit identification solution for which the Company is seeking to raise investment capital, and its novel chemical tracking technology used for covert surveillance applications. In June 2007, Tracer received its first contract from the Defense Department under a Quick Reaction Fund program. Today, Tracer is performing on its second contract with the Defense Department for a program that could well play an important role in the continuing Global War on Terrorism. The Company also has an established presence in San Antonio. Earlier this year, Mr. Timothy McArthur, retired from the Air Force in 2005 joined the Company as Technical Program Manager at the start of the newest contract with the Defense Department. Prior to his retirement, McArthur was the Chief of Special Information Operations. When Tracer’s engineer fell ill in late 2008, Fraser reached out to McArthur who he had met earlier and asked if he’d be interested in helping to support an upcoming new program. As Technical Program Manager, he has provided insight and guidance into managing research programs for the military. With the recent retirement of Tracer’s engineer, McArthur assumed the responsibility of technical lead on the program. When other business responsibilities prompted Tracer’s Board Chairman to ask for relief from that position, Mr. Fraser decided to add to the Board from within the San Antonio technology business community. “I am proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Karl Kabanek as the new Chairman of the Board of Tracer Detection Technology Corp.,” said Mr. Fraser. “This move comes at a time of great opportunity for us as we approach the commercialization of our counterfeit detection solution based on random optical patterns and while we work on the expansion of our contracts with the Department of Defense for our chemical track, trace and locate program. Karl was one of the first people who befriended me before I came to San Antonio. Since that time, Karl and I have developed an admiration for each other’s accomplishments and abilities have grown.” Kabanek seems to share this same sentiment, saying “I am excited to be working with the Tracer Detection Technology team. We are engaged in some very significant research and development activities that have the potential to save lives and to protect valuable intellectual properties. I anticipate a very exciting and beneficial future for Tracer and I am happy to be a part of it.” Mr. Fraser notes that Kabanek is the latest addition to Tracer’s San Antonio-based management team. “Few people realize that my entire financial team, my bookkeeper, CPA and CFO are all here in San Antonio.” Mr. Fraser’s final comment was maybe the most prophetic. “We’re a highly innovative company. Our technologies are game changing. But our strategic approach to business makes us a dynamically flexible high-tech company. My team has kept Tracer moving ahead, especially since the attacks of September 11th, because we’ve believed that both of our technologies represent important tools for the Nation.” More About Mr. Jay Fraser
